Merricks Station is committed to assisting your horse reach their peak performance.

Having had a long and fruitful association with trainers Simon Zahra from Simon Zarhra Racing at Flemington, Merricks Station has been proudly spelling their elite athletes for a number of years. Trainer, Lloyd Kennewell has found a home for his gallopers to spell, including Group 1 Moir Stakes winning mare, Viddora. Merricks Station has some exciting young horses on the track including Elusive Express who Won won the Group 2 Manifold Stakes, 2nd in the Group 1 Thousand Guineas and placing 4th in the 2021 Kennedy Oaks.

Merricks Station provides thoroughbred agistment and spelling for other leading trainers and look forward to developing these relationships more as we expand in the future.

OUR COLOURS

The Merricks Station silks and brand represent the proud heritage of the area and the modern future of the operation.

The ‘M’ brand is designed to resemble stable barns and a horse with blinkers. The lime green base with the white brand can be compared to the bright white fencing along the lush, green pastures framing the immaculate Mornington Peninsula property.

Formally, part of the Cole Estate, and held in their name for generations, Merricks Station was named to remember the property’s past; both a cattle station and having the old Mornington Peninsula railway line travelling along a corner of the property.

OUR SUCCESS

Our success on the racetrack is credit to the professional team of like-minded people that share the racing passion.
